In Memoriam

My father - 2012 Penacova

In Memoriam is the portrait of the place where my father has lived. I met this place in the day of the 15th anniversary of his death. I never lived at this house, nor with my father. After almost eight years with no contact with his family, my uncles showed me what is left from my father: a house, some land and a motorbike.

This place is in Penacova, in Coimbra district. My grandparents also lived there, but I only met my grandmother.  

Suddenly I had this great will and interest of doing a photographic work about what still exists from my father, holding his presence and giving more sense to the house where he lived. While photographing it, I tried to let me be hold by this place taking pictures that would become memories.
