Biography

José Fernandes (b. 1986, Coimbra – Portugal).

 

​He studied photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography (IPF) in 2012 and his passion for documentary photography and photojournalism came after his first contact with journalism at the newspapers "Público" and "i" where he first worked as a trainee. At the newspaper "i" he then worked as a collaborator 

photojournalist for two years. Using photography as his medium, his work looks mainly at the social relationships and daily life.

Currently, José Fernandes is a freelance photographer based in Lisbon.
