Accroboys

Hugo Matias and Telmo Duarte, 21, met each other four years ago, when they began studying Performing Arts with a specialization in Circus at Chapitô school in Lisbon. They were friends and at the same time they shared the same ambition: they wanted to work for a circus company. They also wanted to go abroad, but they didn’t have enough money to go. They looked for work and they created a duo of experimental acrobatic circus named Accroboys.

The duo is a mixture of creation and ideology, body and performance. Hugo has the dramaturgical side he got from theater, Telmo has the technical part. They always tell a story, by bringing to the stage daily moments, portraying them and expressing feelings through circus techniques, demystifying a handshake, the human condition or the alter ego.
